I don't really understand market even half-considering Burnham winning the by-election and then Starmer not being immediately thrown out. Is it not the universal understanding is that its leadership contest IMMEDIATELY should Burnham get in.

Wes Streeting can never win. Miliband is a lunatic that has already been rejected. Rayner's taxes are under investigation and in any case she is clearly not the brightest. IF they are sane, they will look for somebody that MIGHT be able to turn their fortunes around. There is only one man that fits the bill. Nigel will look like a tit trying to argue with someone more masculine and relatable to normal people than he is.
